Jill initially trained as a general and obstetric nurse at Aucklands Middlemore Hospital. On developing a life-changing rheumatoid arthritic condition at just 26 years of age old, she began a quest for answers leading to a complete change of career to complementary medicine (CAM). resulting in her qualifying as a naturopath in 1985 and medical herbalist in 1987.
With more than 26 years clinical naturopathic and herbal medicine practice, 18 years commercial experience in the research and development of dietary supplements and 24 years of tutorial experience of herbal medicine and nutrition at naturopathic colleges, Jill is now recognised as an authority for natural health.
Currently involved in a collaborative survey of the CAM professions in NZ, Jill is intent on the creation a truly integrative health system that combines the strengths of both orthodox and complementary medicine for the benefit of New Zealanders.
Jill graduated with MHSc Complementary medicine in 2004 (Charles Sturt University, Australia). She published a review article in Modern Rheumatology 15(2):87-90 (April 2005) titled Naturopathic management of rheumatoid arthritis
